Datasensing VBR Series

The VBR Series provides a professional family of three-axis vibration and inclination sensors, engineered to deliver accurate condition monitoring, shock event detection, and tilt measurement for demanding industrial applications. With selectable full-scale ranges (±2g to ±16g), MEMS technology, and dual interface (analogue + RS-485), the VBR enables both continuous monitoring and event-triggered diagnostics.

Designed for machine health, preventive maintenance, packaging presses, robotics, and installations requiring precise monitoring of vibration, acceleration and inclination — the VBR Series combines robust construction with advanced measurement capabilities.

Design & Functionality

  • The VBR features an M18 housing made of AISI 316L stainless steel, ensuring mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.
  • Key functional features include:
Selectable operative ranges (±2 g, ±4 g, ±8 g, ±16 g) enabling adaptation to light vibration or heavy shock environments.
Triaxial detection (X, Y, Z axes) for full spatial coverage in vibration and tilt monitoring.
Dual output interfaces: RS-485 digital bus plus analogue (voltage or current) outputs, providing flexibility for machine controls and PLC systems.
Wide frequency range (0…400 Hz for VBR1; up to 0…1 250 Hz for VBR2) supporting both standard and high-speed vibration monitoring.
Rugged industrial specification: IP67 rating, stainless-steel body, operating temperature from –25 °C to +70 °C, high resolution detection down to tens of mg.
  • With MEMS-based sensing and industrial outputs, the VBR Series offers a cost-effective solution for real-time monitoring of equipment health and early fault detection.

Important: The VBR Series combines triaxial MEMS sensing, selectable full-scale ranges, and dual analogue/RS-485 output in a robust stainless-steel M18 housing — making it ideal for industrial vibration and tilt measurement applications.

Total Crossed Beams

(Here adapted to the sensing axes rather than optical beams)

  • The triaxial arrangement ensures full three-dimensional coverage of vibrations and shock across the monitored machinery.
  • This enables complete detection of dynamic events, ensuring no axis is unattended and improving fault-diagnostic reliability.

Beam Pitch Options

(In this context: selectable sensing ranges and resolution levels)

  • Operative ranges available: ±2 g, ±4 g, ±8 g, ±16 g.
  • Resolution accordingly from 15.62 mg (@ ±2 g) to 125 mg (@ ±16 g).
  • These configurations allow users to select the VBR model that best suits their machine’s vibration amplitude and sensitivity requirements — providing design flexibility.

Important: The variety of ranges and resolution makes the VBR Series perfectly suited to both light-vibration monitoring and heavy-shock detection tasks.

Intrinsic Synchronism

  • The internal electronics of the VBR sensor synchronise measurements across all three axes and provide stable data output via RS-485 or analogue, ensuring consistent multi-axis monitoring without external synchronisation hardware.
  • Enables installation of multiple sensors across a machine with reliable and coherent vibration data.

Operational Advantages

  • Accurate vibration and inclination measurement across multiple axes
  • Selectable full-scale ranges for different levels of mechanical stress
  • Industrial ruggedness: stainless-steel housing, IP67, extended temperature range
  • Flexible outputs: analogue and RS-485 for integration into industrial systems
  • Applications: Machine condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, structure tilt detection, shock event capture, robotics bases, packaging and heavy equipment vibration tracking.
