The BX80 Series from Datasensing offers precision area detection in a compact housing, ideal for detecting small or flat objects in industrial automation environments. Rather than detecting at a single point, these sensors monitor an entire vertical detection field—from the defined 70 mm height—ensuring consistent detection regardless of object shape, size or orientation.

Design & Functionality

The BX80 series features a robust PBT housing with PC optical head, designed for tough industrial conditions. With the controlled height of 70 mm and very fine beam spacing (typically around 6 mm), the BX80 sensors deliver high‐resolution area coverage in a slim profile, enabling installation in tight spaces.

Crossed-Beam Architecture & High Resolution

• Utilises a crossed-beam optical layout with 12 or more rays to ensure full coverage of the detection area.
• Fine beam pitch (≈6 mm) enables detection of very small objects (approx. Ø 6 mm or less depending on model).
• Sensing distances up to 2.0 m (standard) and up to 2.5 m in extended variants.
• Rapid response time (≈10 ms) suitable for high-speed conveyor and packaging lines.
• Simplified wiring and installation with connector or cable variants, plus standard IP67 protection for harsh industrial environments.
