Datasensing FF + FFRS Series
The FF + FFRS Series delivers heavy-duty photoelectric sensing in a robust M18 housing designed for the most challenging industrial environments. With models spanning diffuse reflection, retro-reflective, transparent object detection and background suppression, this series offers versatile detection, industrial-grade protection, and long-range capacity for demanding automation tasks.
Design & Functionality
- The series uses a stainless steel AISI 316L (DIN 1.4404) housing, with a screw-thread M18 × 1 body length ~83 mm typical, enabling installation in tough environments with mounting torque up to 50 Nm.
- Coverage includes diffuse-reflection variants (e.g., nominal sensing ~100 mm), long-distance diffuse (400 mm+), retro-reflective, and background suppression (BGS) models with nominal sensing ~30–130 mm.
- Models for background suppression (BGS) feature nominal sensing distances of ~30–130 mm, minimal blind zones (~30 mm), switching frequencies up to ~1 kHz and output functions NO+NC.
- Output types include PNP NO+NC or NPN NO+NC, switching frequencies ~500 Hz (diffuse) or ~1 kHz (BGS) and response times down to 0.5 ms (BGS).
- Protection rating: IP68 / IP69K, approved for harsh industrial and wash-down environments. Operating temperature down to -25 °C up to +80 °C depending on model.
Total Crossed Beams
(In this photoelectric context, “total crossed beams” implies consistent beam path and reliable detection field rather than literal optical beams.)
- The FF + FFRS Series maintains a stable, high-integrity sensing beam across all its detection modes—even when exposed to reflective backgrounds, moving conveyors or wash-down conditions.
- This stability ensures repeatable detection (<5% repeat accuracy typical) and minimizes false triggers or missed detections in high-throughput automation systems.
Beam Pitch Options
(Translated here as selectable sensing distances / variants rather than literal beam spacing.)
- Diffuse models: e.g., nominal sensing ~100 mm for white target (Kodak 90% 100 × 100 mm).
- Long-range diffuse: ~400 mm nominal.
- Background suppression (BGS): nominal ~30–130 mm, minimal blind zone ~30 mm.
- Through-beam/Emitter variants: nominal sensing distances up to ~20 m in certain emitter/receiver models.
- These variant options allow you to select the sensor best suited for your target size, background conditions, clearance and speed requirements.
Intrinsic Synchronism
- The FF + FFRS Series integrates high-performance electronics—sensitivity adjustment (Teach-in), selection of output modes (NO/NC, NO+NC), and full protection (reverse polarity, short-circuit auto-reset, ripple tolerance ≤10%)—with no need for external synchronisation wiring.
- Startup time (“time before availability”) typically ≤ 200 ms, enabling rapid system commissioning.
Operational Advantages
- Heavy-duty durability: With stainless steel housing (AISI 316L), IP68/IP69K rating, and robust output electronics, the sensors are apt for food & beverage, packaging, metalworking, and wash-down environments.
- Wide detection variants: From short-distance (~30 mm) BGS models to long-range (~20 m) emitter/receiver types, this series covers many detection tasks with one common housing family.
- High precision & speed: Switching frequencies up to ~1 kHz (for BGS) and repeat accuracy <5% ensure performance in dynamic automation lines.
- Applications: Ideal for presence/absence detection, transparent object detection, background-rich environments, conveyors in food/packaging, metalworking lines, robotic feeders and any setting where industrial robustness, flexible detection range, and consistent performance in harsh conditions are required.
