Datasensing S60 Series
The S60 Series provides a high-performance family of compact “one-for-all” photo-electric sensors, engineered for versatile optical modes, industry-ready installation, and robust reliability. With the same mechanical footprint across all variants, the series supports sensing distances from a few centimetres up to tens of metres, in modes such as through-beam (0…20 m or up to 0…60 m with Class-1 Laser), polarised retro-reflective (0.1…8 m or up to 0.1…20 m with Laser), diffuse proximity (0…100 cm or up to 0…200 cm), background-suppression (7…20 cm) and contrast/luminescence sensing — delivering exceptional flexibility, uniform mounting, and consistent performance.
Design & Functionality
- The series uses a uniform 50 × 50 × 15 mm housing, enabling “one-case” installation for all optical variants and simplifying mounting, inventory and mechanical design.
- Optical modes include:
• Through-Beam: Sensing range up to ~20 m (LED) and up to ~60 m with Class 1 Laser emission.
• Polarised Retro-Reflective: Range from ~0.1 m to ~8 m (LED) or up to ~20 m with Laser.
• Diffuse Proximity: Range up to ~1 m (standard) or ~2 m for long-range variants.
• Background Suppression: Effective detection in ~7…20 cm range.
• Contrast / Luminescence: Specialized modes for mark detection and luminescence targets. - Adjustment & control: Many models use a trimmer or EASY-touch™ setting interface, with remote-teach, key-lock and selectable delay functions – simplifying configuration and increasing flexibility.
- Electrical & output options: Supply voltage 10…30 V DC for transistor output versions; NPN or PNP logic; cable or M12 connector; whole series designed for industrial use with short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection.
- Robustness: Mechanical protection rating IP67, housing material ABS/PMMA or equivalent; compact form allows integration even in space-limited machine environments.
Total Crossed Beams
(In this context, the term signals the sensor’s full reliable detection coverage across its sensing zone rather than literal crossed beams.)
- The S60 Series ensures a stable detection field across its wide optical range and variant options, meaning fewer missed detections and better repeatability even when target size, background or installation conditions vary.
- Having the same packaging for all variants simplifies design and reduces mechanical rework — the “one housing fits all” concept assists in consistent system integration.
Beam Pitch Options
(Here interpreted as variant options for sensing distance and optics, rather than literal beam‐pitch.)
- Example: Through-Beam model up to ~20 m LED / ~60 m Laser.
- Example: Polarised Retro-Reflective up to ~8 m LED / ~20 m Laser.
- Example: Diffuse Proximity up to ~100 cm / ~200 cm (long-range) or background suppression ~7…20 cm.
- These variant options allow you to choose an S60 model that matches your target size, mounting clearance, background conditions and throughput requirements — delivering design flexibility.
Intrinsic Synchronism
- All the sensor electronics and optical module are integrated within the same housing — no external synchronisation modules or bulky wiring required — facilitating straightforward installation and service.
- Consistent housing, ease of setup (trimmer or EASY-touch™) and reliable diagnostics (LEDs) also reduce commissioning time and support ongoing maintenance.
Operational Advantages
- Versatile detection in one series: From short distance background suppression to long span through-beam up to tens of metres, the S60 covers a broad application spectrum.
- Uniform mounting and mechanics: The 50 × 50 × 15 mm housing for all variants simplifies machine design, replacements and stocking.
- Industrial robustness: IP67 rating, tough housing, selectable logic, and high-quality optics make the series suitable for packaging lines, conveyors, automatic warehouses and intralogistics.
- Applications: Ideal for automatic machines, packaging lines, transportation lines, automatic warehouses, and other demanding environments where optical versatility, compact mounting, and high performance are required.
