Datasensing S100 Series
The S100 Series delivers a benchmark family of miniature photo-electric sensors, engineered for very compact installation, versatile detection modes, and industrial-grade robustness. With dimensions of only ~32 Γ 20 Γ 12 mm, the series supports optical modes covering from fixed-focus and background-suppression through diffuse and long-range emitter/receiver up to ~12 m, making it a highly flexible solution for automation, packaging and intralogistics.
Design & Functionality
- The housing features two threaded front mounting holes and two slotted rear mounting holes, enabling flexible mounting in machine frames, conveyors or side-channels.
- Optical mode variants include:
β’ Through-beam models with nominal sensing distances up to ~12 m.
β’ Retro-reflective models up to ~7 m (infrared) or ~5.5 m (polarised) depending on reflector.
β’ Diffuse proximity models with nominal sensing distances ~300βmm (short range) or ~500βmm (long range) on white targets.
β’ Background-suppression versions with nominal ranges around ~30-100βmm (short) or ~200βmm (long) for near-field detection.
β’ High-speed contrast/mark-detection versions with sensing distances ~12βmm and response times as low as ~25βΒ΅s and switching frequencies up to ~20βkHz. - Output logic: Models provide selectable Light-On / Dark-On mode, NPN or PNP outputs, and in several variants IO-Link (COM2) connectivity and dual output channels β delivering smart integration for Industry 4.0 applications.
- Mechanical and electrical data: Operating voltage 10β¦30 V DC, load current up to 100βmA, housing material plastic (ABS/PMMA), and protection rating IP67 β built for harsh automation layouts.
