Datasensing QMRS Series
The QMRS Series delivers a high-performance family of miniature cubic photo-electric sensors, engineered for compact installation, fast response, and industrial reliability. With background-suppression optical mode, nominal range of ~200 mm, high switching speeds and selectable logic/output types, this series provides reliable detection even in challenging backgrounds, high throughput capability, and ease of integration in tight machine spaces.
Design & Functionality
- The series uses a miniature cubic housing (~40.6 Γ 21 Γ 13 mm), making it suitable for installation in highly confined locations or compact machine frames.
- It features background-suppression optics with a nominal sensing distance of ~200 mm on a standard white target (Kodak 90% 200Γ200 mm). The minimum sensing (blind zone) is ~30 mm.
- The sensor boasts high switching frequency (1 kHz) and high-speed response (~500 Β΅s) β supporting fast moving targets and high-throughput automation.
- Logic outputs are selectable for Light-On or Dark-On mode, and versions are available in NPN or PNP output types β providing integration flexibility.
- Built with a housing rated IP67, solid PA66 material body, PMMA active head, and under protection against ambient light up to 10,000 lux sunlight β delivering robust industrial operation.
Total Crossed Beams
(Here interpreted as ensuring consistent detection coverage rather than literal optical crossed beams.)
- The QMRS Series ensures a stable detection field even in background-rich environments (e.g., objects in front of conveyors, reflective or dark surfaces). This leads to fewer false triggers and higher repeatability in automated lines.
- Its high speed and compact form make it ideal for tight-space installation with consistent detection performance.
Beam Pitch Options
(Here interpreted as selectable sensing-distance/variant options rather than literal beam pitch.)
- Example model with nominal ~200 mm sensing distance (white target) in background suppression mode.
- Variants include different connection types (M8 plug, pigtail cable) while maintaining the same nominal range and high performance.
- These options allow designers to choose a QMRS variant suited to mounting constraints, connection type, logic requirement and speed β offering design flexibility.
Intrinsic Synchronism
- The electronics and sensing components are integrated within the housing β no external synchronisation modules are required β simplifying wiring and installation.
- The built-in potentiometer for sensitivity adjustment, LED indicators and the high-speed response further streamline commissioning and operation.
Operational Advantages
- Speed & responsiveness: With 1 kHz switching frequency and ~500 Β΅s response time, the QMRS is well-suited for fast conveyors, sorting systems, and high-throughput automation.
- Compact integration: The tiny cubic housing (~40.6 Γ 21 Γ 13 mm) enables installation in spaces where conventional sensors cannot fit.
- Background suppression performance: With a blind zone of ~30 mm and ability to detect objects in front of challenging backgrounds, the QMRS enhances detection reliability in complex scenarios.
- Versatile logic & connectivity: Selectable Light-On/Dark-On logic, NPN/PNP versions and M8 plug or cable connection choices support various automation architectures.
- Applications: Ideal for packaging frames, machine tool integration, conveyor object presence/absence detection, secondary automation modules and any installation requiring compact mounting, high speed, and reliable detection on variable backgrounds.
