Datasensing LTB Series
The LTB Series offers a dedicated family of contrast scanners in an M18 cylindrical housing, engineered for high-speed mark detection, small-spot optics, and industrial robustness. With nominal sensing distances down to ~12 mm (using STF-12 focaliser) or up to ~25 mm (with STF-25), and extremely fast response times (50 Β΅s), the series provides exceptional precision, fast reaction, and robust performance.
Design & Functionality
- The LTB sensors feature an M18 cylindrical housing with rugged PBT body and durable PMMA optics, designed for reliable mounting in manufacturing and packaging lines.
- Optical capabilities include:
β’ White-light emission for high contrast detection of marks, labels or codes.
β’ Small-spot focusing: For example, Γ 1 mm spot with STF-12 focaliser or Γ 0.8 mm spot with STF-25 focaliser β enabling detection of very small high-contrast marks. - Performance highlights:
β’ Response time 50 Β΅s and switching frequency up to 10 kHz β enabling rapid detection of marks even on fast moving conveyors.
β’ Selectable Light-On/Dark-On output logic and output type (NPN) provide flexible integration into control architectures. - Electrical & mechanical data:
β’ Supply voltage 10β¦30 V DC, no-load current β€ 40 mA, load current β€ 100 mA.
β’ Housing protection rating IP65, robust against dust and light splash in industrial environments.
Total Crossed Beams
(In this context, βTotal Crossed Beamsβ implies reliable detection coverage across the sensing field rather than literal crossed optical beams.)
- The LTB Series ensures a stable detection zone even when marks vary slightly in size or position, or when conveyor speeds are high β resulting in fewer missed detections and higher repeatability.
- Its combination of small-spot optics and ultra-fast response makes it ideal for packaging, label detection, film tracking, and mark verification where reliability is critical.
Beam Pitch Options
(Interpreted here as variant options of focalising/spot size or sensing distance rather than literal beam spacing.)
- Example: Nominal sensing distance of ~12 mm using STF-12 focaliser (Γ 1 mm spot).
- Example: Nominal sensing distance of ~25 mm using STF-25 focaliser (Γ 0.8 mm spot).
- These variants allow you to select an LTB model matched to your mark size, mounting clearance, contrast conditions and conveyor speed β giving design flexibility.
Intrinsic Synchronism
- The optics, electronics and output logic are integrated within one compact housing β no external synchronisation module is required β simplifying installation and reducing wiring complexity.
- With built-in sensitivity adjustment, LED indicators (power ON, output state), and interchangeable mounting options (M18 / M12 or cable) the LTB series supports fast commissioning and easy maintenance.
Operational Advantages
- Ultra-fast mark detection: The LTB Seriesβ 50 Β΅s response time and 10 kHz switching capability make it highly suitable for high-speed printing, packaging and web-handling systems.
- High-precision spot & contrast capability: With very small spot sizes (Γ 1 mm, Γ 0.8 mm) the sensor can reliably detect tiny marks, edges or film registration distinctions.
- Flexible integration: Selectable logic (Light-On/Dark-On), compact M18 housing with M12 plug, or cable version; supply from 10β¦30 V DC; ensures compatibility with a variety of control systems.
- Robust industrial design: With IP65 rating, durable PBT housing and advanced optics, the sensor withstands dusty, high-speed production environments.
- Applications: Ideal for label presence verification, mark/edge detection on film, printing quality control, web tracking, packaging line registration, and any application where high-speed detection, small spot size, and compact installation are required.
