Datasensing VT Series

The VT Series delivers reliable metal-object detection designed specifically for AC-powered industrial automation systems. With a rugged M30 housing, multivoltage AC operation (20…250 V AC) and both flush & non-flush mounting variants, the VT Series offers high reliability in standard and demanding manufacturing environments

Design & Functionality

  • The sensor is housed in a nickel-plated brass M30 Γ— 1.5 cylinder, providing robust mechanical strength and compatibility with standard M30 mounting. 
  • Supports AC multivoltage range of 20…250 V AC / 50-60 Hz, enabling integration into mains-powered systems without a separate DC supply. 
  • In un-shielded (non-flush) versions, nominal sensing distance reaches ~15 mm (for standard target 45Γ—45 mm FE360) while flush (shielded) versions deliver around ~10 mm nominal distance (for target 30Γ—30 mm FE360). 
    • Correction factors for metals: copper 0.40-0.45, aluminium 0.50, brass 0.55-0.60, stainless steel 0.75-0.80. 
  • Electrical features: repeat accuracy < 5%, thermal drift < 10%, switching type TRIAC output, switching frequency ~25 Hz (AC models) for reliable detection in varied industrial applications.

  • The VT Series maintains a stable sensing zone across its active face even in AC installations with varied background metal and mounting clearance.

Beam Pitch Options

  • Flush (shielded) version: ~10 mm nominal sensing distance; Operating distance 0…8.1 mm (example) for target 30Γ—30 mm FE360. 
  • Non-flush (un-shielded) version: ~15 mm nominal sensing distance; Operating distance 0…12.1 mm (example) for target 45Γ—45 mm FE360. 
  • Shielded vs un-shielded options allow the sensor to adapt to either tight-clearance mounting or longer-distance detection needs.

Intrinsic Synchronism

  • The electronics are fully integrated β€” the sensor works with 2-wire connection and no external synchronisation wiring is required.
