Datasensing RL Series
The RL Series provides a robust family of reflector modules engineered for optimized retro-reflection sensing, long-distance detection capabilities, and flexible mounting formats. With options ranging from small 6-mm diameter reflectors to large panel reflectors up to 90 Γ 200 cm, and versions optimised for polarized sensors, this series delivers exceptionally strong signal return, enhanced reliability, and adaptability for varied machine layouts.
Design & Functionality
- The reflectors feature high-performance retro-reflective materials, designed for use with retro-reflection or polarized-retro-reflection sensor heads.
- Key characteristics include:
β’ Polarized versions available, enabling improved immunity to ambient light and stray reflections, thereby increasing detection reliability.
β’ Large format reflectors (for example up to 92 Γ 200 cm) available for long-range detection or wide sensing areas.
β’ Compact sizes (Γ 6.5 mm up to ~42 mm width) for tight mounting spaces or low-clearance installations.
β’ Mounting accessories (brackets, screws) and variants tailored for fixed mounting or conveyor-side detection applications. - Mechanical details: The RL range supports simple installation, providing high reflectivity with minimal alignment requirements due to the retro-reflective design.
Important: The RL Series enhances the performance of retro-reflective sensors by providing maximum signal return, enabling far-side placement of the sensor and reducing installation constraints.
Total Crossed Beams
(Here interpreted as: full reflective coverage across the sensing path rather than literal optical beams crossing.)
- The RL Series ensures a stable reflective target surface, meaning that the sensorβs emitted beam is reliably returned to the receiver even if alignment shifts or if the target path varies slightly β leading to fewer missed detections, higher repeatability, and reduced maintenance.
- This stability is especially useful in production lines where parts pass through a portal or along a conveyor, and the sensor needs a consistent reflective surface to maintain performance.
Beam Pitch Options
(Here interpreted as variant options of reflector size, shape, and mounting format rather than literal beam spacing.)
- Example variant: Small cylindrical reflector for tight spaces (e.g., Γ 6.5 mm, suitable for compact sensors).
- Example variant: Medium panel reflector (e.g., 78.5 Γ 90 mm) for moderate coverage.
- Example variant: Large panel reflector (e.g., 92 Γ 200 cm) for long-range or wide area detection.
- These reflector format options allow you to choose an RL model that matches your sensor field geometry, installation clearance and detection distance β providing design flexibility.
Intrinsic Synchronism
- The reflector is passive but designed to pair seamlessly with the sensorβs emitter and receiver β no active electronics on the reflector itself β thus the sensorβs optics remain synchronised without additional components.
- With high-quality reflective materials and precise manufacturing, the RL series supports quick installation, low realignment, and stable long-term operation, reducing system downtime.
Operational Advantages
- Enhanced detection reliability: The high-return reflectivity and optional polarization increase signal margin and reduce false-triggering from ambient light or dust.
- Flexible installation geometry: With multiple sizes and formats from very small to large panels, the RL series adapts to new or retrofit installation scenarios.
- Cost-effective maintenance: Passive reflector modules require minimal upkeep, do not consume power, and maintain stability over time.
- Applications: Ideal for conveyor portals (object pass-through detection), long-distance photoelectric sensors up to tens of metres, packaging machine doors, robotics guard detection, material-handling gantries β anywhere retro-reflective sensing, high signal return, and simple mounting are required.
