Datasensing CBX-8IOL Master
The CBX-8IOL Master delivers a robust, high‐performance family of IO-Link master modules, engineered for seamless integration of IO-Link sensors/actuators, multi‐protocol connectivity, and industrial‐rugged design. With 8 configurable IO-Link ports, support for PLC‐less operation via embedded Web server or OPC-UA, and a rugged IP67 housing, the series provides exceptional connectivity, flexible network integration, and reliable performance in harsh automated environments.
Design & Functionality
- The module uses a sealed IP67 housing, enabling mounting in dusty, wet or mechanically demanding environments such as conveyors, robotic cells and outdoor sorting lines.
- Optical mode (relevant features) include:
• Eight M12 A‐coded IO-Link ports, each configurable for IO-Link mode or standard digital I/O.
• Dual Ethernet ports (10/100 Mbps) supporting network topologies or daisy chaining.
• Support for multiple fieldbus/protocols including PROFINET IO, Ethernet/IP™, Modbus/TCP, and embedded OPC-UA server capability — enabling direct connectivity to SCADA/HMI without need for separate PLC in some applications.
• Web-server based configuration interface enabling remote sensor/IO parameterisation via standard browser — simplifies commissioning and diagnostics. - Housing and mechanical: Typical dimensions approx 65 × 212 × 30 mm (for certain variants) — supports machine‐mount or panel‐mount installation.
Total Crossed Beams
(Here the term “Total Crossed Beams” is used metaphorically to indicate full coverage and high reliability of the module’s connectivity, rather than literal crossed optical beams.)
- The CBX-8IOL Master ensures comprehensive connectivity for up to eight IO-Link devices plus digital I/O, in one sealed package — reducing the number of modules and cabling required, thereby improving system robustness and lowering installation cost.
- The network flexibility and embedded Web server mean that setup, diagnostics and maintenance are simplified, resulting in fewer commissioning errors, higher uptime, and faster deployment.
Beam Pitch Options
(Here interpreted as variant options / network capability rather than literal beam pitch.)
- Example: Variant with Ethernet/IP protocol support (e.g., 95ACC8180) — eight IO-Link ports, IP67, dual Ethernet.
- Example: Variant with PROFINET IO protocol support (e.g., 95ACC8190) — same IO count and mechanical format.
- These variant options allow you to choose a module that matches your fieldbus/network standard, installation environment and cabling strategy — giving design flexibility.
Intrinsic Synchronism
- The IO-Link master integrates power distribution, IO-Link port management, Ethernet connectivity and configuration in a single housing — no separate gateway or additional PLC required for many tasks — simplifying wiring and installation.
- With built‐in port‐by‐port protection (overcurrent/short circuit), LEDs for status (power, network, IO-Link ports), and Web server diagnostics, the system supports reliable operation and maintenance ease.
Operational Advantages
- High port density in rugged format: Eight IO-Link ports, dual Ethernet, sealed housing — one module serves many devices.
- Multi‐protocol support & industry ready: Suits modern automation lines using PROFINET, Ethernet/IP or Modbus, and supports OPC-UA connectivity for Industry 4.0/IIoT.
- Reduced system complexity: Embedded Web server and IO-Link capability reduce need for extra PLCs or gateways, lowering cost and footprint.
- Applications: Ideal for packaging machinery, conveyor systems, intralogistics sorters, robotics cells, general manufacturing lines where dense I/O, network flexibility, robust mount, and simplified commissioning are required.
