Festo Pinch Valves

Festo’s pinch valves deliver **precise control of liquids, dusty media, solids and mixtures ** in process-engineering environments. They feature a soft-sealing elastomer sleeve that opens fully under pneumatic actuation, offering minimal flow resistance and high process reliability. 

These valves are offered in normally-closed and normally-open configurations, enabling versatile use across applications such as conveying, dosing and shutdown functions. 

Important: The free-passage valve design with elastomer sleeve ensures clog-resistance, long life and suitability for abrasive or mixed media.

Design & Functionality

The pinch valve functions by compressing or releasing a flexible sleeve within the valve body. When actuated, the sleeve opens to allow media flow; when de-actuated (or spring reset in the normally-closed version) the sleeve closes, isolating the process media. 

Available in multiple variants, including:
• Standard in-line housing (DN 6 to DN 50) with different porting (G, NPT or clamp ferrule) 
• Housing materials: aluminium or stainless steel for clean-design or hygienic applications 
• Shut-off element materials: EPDM, silicone (VMQ), NBR to suit temperature and media resistance requirements 

Important: Variant choices for housing material, porting type and sleeve material allow optimisation for harsh, hygienic or abrasive environments.

This valve family spans a broad functional range—from small nominal diameters (DN 6) to larger bore (DN 50)—ensuring full coverage for many process-automation needs. It supports reversible flow direction, optional vacuum service, and high burst pressures for robust use.

Intrinsic Synchronism

Internal design ensures minimal dead-volume and tight sealing of the elastomer sleeve, enabling consistent shut-off and high repeatability in cyclic operation. optional integrated magnet for end-position sensing is available.
