Festo Adapter Plates

Festo adapter plates are designed to simplify the mechanical and pneumatic connection between valve terminals, drives and positioners – enabling fast, repeatable and reliable installation in automated systems. These plates adhere to widely used industrial mounting standards and provide high-quality alignment and sealing between components.

They ensure consistent performance by aligning actuator interfaces with valve terminals and securing the porting of compressed air through the system without leakage or misalignment. Whether you are mounting a quarter-turn actuator, a linear drive or a pneumatic module, the adapter plate offers the required mechanical coupling and pneumatic interface in one compact component.

⭐ Important: The adapter plate guarantees standard interface alignment (such as VDI/VDE 3847) and robust sealing of compressed air paths for high-performance pneumatic system integration.

Design & Functionality

The adapter plate provides a precision interface plate made from anodised aluminium alloy, with standardised bolt-patterns and porting layouts. It can be mounted in any orientation and supports multiple working port sizes (e.g., G¼, G½) depending on system size. Some variants are designed for rotary drives, others for linear actuators or valve terminals.

Quick assembly is enabled through pre-drilled holes and centring pins, making installation in manifold or sub-base systems straightforward. Sealing is provided by EPDM or NBR gaskets to ensure reliable operation under industrial conditions.

Adapter plates cover the functional requirement of mechanically and pneumatically linking actuator drives and valve terminals in a wide range of sizes and mounting configurations. This ensures full operational compatibility across different drive sizes (e.g., 180 … 2300) and working port configurations. 

Beam Pitch Options

Matching the wide variety of actuator and valve terminal sizes, adapter plates are available in different sizes (for example size 180, 240, 300, 360, 480, 700, 900, 1200, 2300) and with different working ports (e.g., G¼, G½). The plate supports mounting of quarter-turn actuators (e.g., DFPD series) or valve terminals with modular blocks.

Intrinsic Synchronism

The adapter plate ensures precise alignment between the actuator’s drive shaft/interface and the valve terminal’s mounting plane. This alignment is critical for maintaining correct actuation behaviour, minimizing side loads, and ensuring reliable switching and control within the pneumatic system.
